Osprey Stratos 36 Backpack
The Stratos 36 multi-day backpack is all about ventilation and comfort, featuring an AirSpeed trampoline mesh back panel and Spacermesh shoulder straps and hip belt. Carrying this comfortable pack will literally be a breeze, perfect for long days on winding trails or lightweight overnight trips in warm weather.
Designed for all-day comfort when hiking in the hills, the Stratos 36 features a fully adjustable AirSpeed ventilated back system whilst still giving enough room for spare clothing, food and the essential kit. Constructed using tough, durable nylon fabrics, the backpack is built to last. The main compartment is made from a super tough 210D Nylon Crosshatch that is finished with a water-repellent coating to ensure that your kit remains dry as you go. As well as this, a rain cover that is stowed away in a small zipped pocket at the bottom of the pack is ideal for when you get caught out in heavier rain. This fabric, although thick and durable, is very lightweight so that you barely feel like you are wearing the pack. High wear areas such as the base and the sides feature a heavier and more durable 420D fabric to reduce the risk of wear and tear further.
Taking inspiration from their AntiGravity technology, Osprey have created a seamless construction across the back panel and hip belt of the Stratos 36 using a highly breathable suspended mesh. This construction creates the AirSpeed Ventilated Trampoline Suspended back system that works to excellently transfer weight for a more comfortable and lightweight feel. The rest of the back is suspended away from the back panel to produce superior ventilation even on the hottest hikes so that you can remain comfortable throughout the warm days. The hip belt and shoulder straps feature a die-cut foam reinforcement to provide stability, support and ventilation that flex beautifully around your body for increased comfort. The hip belt is teamed with a built-in, adjustable sternum strap to help spread the load by transferring it to these areas and away from your shoulders. The AirSpeed back system is adjustable to ensure a perfect fit to this one size pack so that you can create a fit that suits you including a Velcro pad on the shoulder harness that allows you to control the height. Finishing up the back system is a flexible wire frame that helps to transfer weight to the hips to provide extra stability. This frame offers a degree of flex to the pack so that you can move more freely with your shoulders moving independently to your hips.
The Stratos 36 features an easily accessible main compartment with a double-clipped lid opening and drawcord fastening. This compartment can also be easily accessed with the single vertical zip on the side of the pack. At the base of this compartment, there is also a zippered sleeping bag section with a bellowed divider to separate equipment easily. A hydration sleeve and a little clip to prevent the bladder from drooping down to the sleeve feature in this main compartment. The pack provides storage for your trekking poles and walking axe with loops and attachment systems on the outside allowing you to stash them away safely and efficiently whilst keeping the pack on. The Stratos 36 also features a zipped mesh pocket with an internal key clip for safe and secure storage of items you may need to reach more quickly, two mesh side pockets large enough to hold an insulating layer or a 1L bottle with a tougher base to prevent abrasion, and two 3D zipped pockets on the hip belt. As well as this, the front of the pack features a large, expandable, zipped pocket perfect for wet clothing that you may need to access quickly if the weather takes a turn. Lastly, two "InsideOut" compression straps pull the weight closer to your back to increase comfort and carrying efficiency. These straps also prevent your gear from moving about when the pack is not full and can be used inside or outside of the side pockets depending on your need.
