Rab Borealis Jacket
Suitable for all sorts of outdoor adventures, this vibrant Borealis Jacket is self-proclaimed to be the lightest, most breathable, and most versatile soft-shell jacket to exist.
You'll be amazed by this outstanding, technologically advanced piece of clothing from Rab. Made with their own Matrix softshell fabrics, the jacket is water-resistant, providing with a lovely layer of dry protection. It also provides wind resistance, which as a combination of the two is an absolute powerhouse of a jacket, and that's without the ultra-stretchy movements, and UPF 50+ rating. The perfect thing about this jacket is the ability to pack it down to a teeny tiny size, with the right-hand side chest pocket, allowing it to be taken anywhere with you, even when you have minimal space. Because Rab knows the importance of taking a jacket everywhere you go. The product has an attached hood, that can be worn underneath a helmet, whether that's a cycle helmet, or climbing helmet, that parts up to you, and lycra binding to ensure an attractive and comfortable finish. The jacket also boasts a YKK front zip, as well as two zipped chest pockets, that are conveniently placed above the places that a climbing harness, or rucksack hipbelt will usually sit. Rab completely have you in mind with these small, effective details, giving you easy access to essential items in your pockets, whilst also keeping them safe and secure. The Borealis Jacket has lycra cuffs, and a hem drawcord, to allow for any anjustments. Using reflective logos ensure you are visible even during the low-light conditions. This Borealis jacket is part of Rab's slim collection, however it can be used as an outer-layer if needed with a mid-weight fleece underneath. The stretchy material will also ensure you are not restricted, even if you have chosen to wear layers underneath. If you're looking for a versatile jacket that can be worn all year round, this is the jacket for you.
Rab's story began in 1981 in the attic of a small, terraced house in Sheffield where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Hand-stitched and devised with his own ingenious eye, Rab's experience from years spent in the mountains was apparent in his designs, and soon there was popular demand both from friends and the growing local climbing community.
Things didn't stop there. Word soon spread, and the Sheffield attic became a factory floor, creating sleeping bags and jackets for customers far and wide. Now, decades later, those honest, hard-wearing designs can be found all over the world; wherever adventurous individuals face up to the elements. From Himalayan peaks to cold, crisp evenings around a campfire.
Over the past decade, Rab has continued to move from strength-to-strength, with increased popularity both in the UK and beyond and the introduction of iconic pieces such as the Microlight Alpine and Kinetic Plus. From far away frozen summits to the hills of the Peak District, you will find Rab products all over the world.
