The North Face Basin 36L Backpack
The hiking-specific Basin Backpack isn't for fair-weather explorers. It's rugged, durable and ready for whatever nature throws at you. It features a light but hardy ripstop fabric and reinforced bottom, both of which can take a bit of a beating.
Constructed using a ripstop fabric to keep the weight to a minimum, The North Face Basin 36L backpack features an easily accessible and large main compartment for storing all your essential hiking items while the NextVent™ back panel and shoulder straps offer padding and breathability for a comfortable yet minimalist carry. A concealed rain cover deploys easily and attaches to specific points for a precise fit and provides water resistant protection with two-point trekking-pole attachment helps to hold your trekking poles. The backpack also features two quick access water bottle pockets and an external stash pocket which holds bulky or quick-access items, and compression straps hold items in place. Rear lash points and a sternum strap with a whistle buckle provide additional connectivity while the rugged polyester boot provides durability where you need it. Lastly a padded, secure-zip hip belt pocket provides quick access to snacks and other items.
The North Face Story
Named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain, The North Face has helped explorers reach the most unfathomable heights of the Himalayas for years. However, The North Face legend ironically begins on San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood, at only 150 feet above sea level. Here, two passionate hiking enthusiasts first founded a small mountaineering retail store in 1966. Soon after, this small shop became known as The North Face and began to design and manufacture it's own brand of technical apparel and equipment.
From there The North Face has grown extraordinarily, and now supplies a wide range of products for hiking, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing and even ultra and trail runners. Continuing to expand all the time, The North Face pushes the boundaries of innovation so that you can push the boundaries of exploration. There's little telling what the next 50 years will hold for the company. However there is one certainty: The North Face will maintain an unwavering commitment to providing the best possible designs, so that you never stop exploring.
